‘Welcome Home’ Original Skydive Painting

'Welcome Home' Original Skydive Painting

'Welcome Home' is an original acrylic painting celebrating the people, freedom and community of skydiving. Katie called it welcome home because it’s a place she can leave for months and return feeling like she was never away.

For this piece, I invited 16 skydivers to draw their own parachutes directly onto the canvas. Those original drawings became the reference for the finished painting, meaning the artwork holds a hidden layer of the people and stories behind it. Beneath the painted surface, their original canopy drawings remain on the canvas.

Created using acrylic paint and thick acrylic gel, the painting has a rich, textured surface that gives each canopy a sense of movement and dimension.

The artwork is finished in a bespoke white wooden frame and comes ready to hang.
